Skúma najdôležitejšie skladby v historickej evolúcii bas gitary, ktoré mali a majú vplyv na uhol, akým sa na tento nástroj nazerá poslucháčmi, hudobnými vedcami, ale predovšetkým hudobníkmi. Časť práce tvoria vybrané osobnosti basgitary, respektíve ich krátke monografie, kde si priblížime ich hudobný život, aké mali postavenie v historickom kontexte. Najobsiahlejšia plocha je však venovaná analýze jednotlivých skladieb, ktoré mali zásadný vplyv na evolúciu zvuku basgitary, techniky akou sa na ňu hrá, ale predovšetkým na prehodnocovanie postavenia tohto nástroja v hudobných formáciách. Skladby, ktoré sa postupom času stali akýmisi učebnicami pre budúce generácie bas gitaristov podrobujeme harmonickej analýze, ale i rytmickej a v neposlednom rade na nich demonštrujeme aj hráčske techniky najväčších svetových bas gitaristov. Analýza vybraných skladieb zároveň skúma významnú premosťovaciu funkciu basgitary v procese komunikácie medzi rytmickými a melodickými nástrojmi a poukazuje na jej dôležité postavenie z hľadiska harmonickej výstavby skladieb. Anotace anglicky This thesis falls into the field of applied music theory and partly also organology. It examines the most important pieces in the historical evolution of the bass, and have had an impact on the angle in which the audience viewed the instrument, music scholars, but most musicians. Part of the work consists of a selected individual bass players, or their short monograph, where around their musical lives and what they place in a historical context. Most extensive area is devoted to analysis of individual songs that have a major impact on the evolution of bass sound, techniques such as playing on it, but mainly to review the status of the instrument in musical formations. Songs that will over time become textbooks for future generations bassists subjected to harmonic analysis, but also rhythm and, not least of which demonstrates both the world's largest gaming technology bassists. Analysis of selected tracks while exploring an important bridging function of bass in the process of communication between the rhythmic and melodic instruments, and highlights its importance in terms of building a harmonious songs.
