Anotace Diplomová práca si kladie za úlohu priniesť ucelený pohľad na problematiku blues-rockovej gitarovej interpretácie s dôrazom na hĺbkovú historickú analýzu okolností vzniku blues-rockového žánru. V prvej časti práce dávame dôraz na dôkladné zmapovanie kultúrneho a spoločenského kontextu, v ktorom vznikli podmienky pre obohatenie tradičného blues o nové štýlotvorné prvky –tu je dôležité predovšetkým obdobie 60. rokov 20. storočia, keď vďaka hnutiu britských bluesových nadšencov prebehla vlna obrodnenia blues, známa ako blues-rocková explózia či britský bluesový boom. Toto hnutie sa formovalo okolo talentovaných umelcov, ktorí pôsobili v hudobných telesách kľúčových pre tvorivú expanziu blues, akými boli The Yardbirds, John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers či Cream. Britskí bluesoví hudobníci dokázali rozoznať a inovatívne spracovať hlavné stavebné charakteristiky štýlu a vrámci sebavyjadrenia začali pridávať vlastné prvky. Ich základným študijným materiálom boli nahrávky amerických bluesových otcov ako Howlin‘Wolf či Muddy Waters, takmer zabudnutých vo svojej rodnej krajine, ktoré najprv učebnicovo interpretovali, ale prevzaté inšpirácie taktiež pretvárali do novej podoby. Vďaka ich záujmu sa v období 60. rokov bluesový žáner nesmierne spopularizoval a dostalo sa mu celosvetového uznania. Vzhľadom na to, že britskí hudobníci nepoznali dobre kontext existencie a vývoja tradičného blues, neboli zviazaní obavami o zachovávanie žánrovej čistoty, a tak ho mohli slobodne obohacovať o nové, inovatívne prvky, čím podnietili vznik nového žánru –blues-rocku. Ten zo sebou priniesol vlastnú estetiku a výrazovosť a inicioval zrod ďalšiho fenoménu, ktorým bola emancipácia elektrickej gitary ako dominantného a štýlotvorného nástroja v zosobnení kľúčovej postavy sólového gitaristu. V dôraze na tento element koncipujeme jadro diplomovej práce, kde prostredníctvom komparatívnej analýzy profilov výrazných osobností pôvodnej i modernej blues-rockovej gitarovej interpretácie skúmame základné technické a koncepčné východiská blues-rockového gitarového štýlu. Anotace anglicky The aim of the underlying master’s thesis is to provide a valuable insight into the characteristics of blues-rock guitar interpretation with main focus on deep historical analysis of the circumstances that determined the birth and evolution of blues-rock genre. The first section of the thesis focuses on thorough understanding of the cultural and social context that created the conditions for stylistic and aesthetic evolution of the traditional blues in the sixties era, where the british blues movement launched a new musical and cultural wave that marked the rebirth of the blues and which became later known as the blues-rock explosion or british blues boom. The core of the movement was based around talented musicians that formed bands crucial to the creative expansion of the blues as were The Yardbirds, John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers and Cream. British blues enthusiasts were able to recognize and creatively process fundamental characteristics of the blues style. They studied the records and performances of the blues fathers like Howlin’ Wolf or Muddy Waters, at first mostly covering the tunes and imitating the expressive style of the blues artists, later also forming their own style and creatively processing what they learned. Thanks to their interest in the blues, which was at the time almost forgotten genre, it suddenly got major exposure and gradually even international recognition. British musicians did not have vast knowledge about the roots of the traditional blues and were not bound by the fear of preserving the purity of the blues, they mixed it freely with foreign elements and eventually created a new genre –blues-rock. This brought a new form of expression and intensity to the blues and also helped to establish the electric guitar as a sound-defining solo instrument in the hands of a lead guitarist that from now on shaped the sound of blues based genres. We emphasize this element by focusing the rest of the thesis on analysing the techniques and concepts that form the expressive vocabulary of historical and modern personalities of blues-rock guitar.
