Výskum zisťoval prítomnosť a rozšírenosť anhemitonických pentatonických stupníc v repertoári ľudových piesní v Indii, skúmal a kriticky analyzoval konkrétne spôsoby použitia týchto stupníc v spomínanom repertoári, a vnímal ich aj v širšom ázijskom kontexte. Výskum predstavuje nový prínos v oblasti muzikológie, pretože s výskytom a použítím anhemitonických pentatonických stupníc v indických ľudových piesňach sa doterajšia teória ešte podrobne nezaoberala. Dizertácia sa začína pojdenávaním o tonálnom aspekte ľudových piesní, o koncepte anhemitonických pentatonických stupníc, o význame pojmu „ľudového“ v indickom kontexte, a o indikých ľudových a kmeňových piesňach. Druhá kapitola sa venuje ázijskému kontextu anhemitonických pentatonických stupníc. Hlavnácasť dizertácie sa sústreďuje do kapitol 3 a 4, ktoré skúmajú použitie anhemitonických pentatonických stupníc v ľudových piesňach a kmeňových piesňach jednotlivých štátov Indie. Po stručnej geografickej a demografickej charakteristike regiónu v podkapitolách sa sleduje prítomnosť a použitie anhemitonických pentatonických stupníc v skúmaných prameňoch, po čom nasleduje analýza vybraných piesní podľa vyššie uvedeného postupu. Notácia piesní je zahrnutá v rámci analýzy. Zhrnutie hudobných charakteristík analyzovaných piesní prináša piata kapitola. Výsledky dizertácie sú uvedené v samostatnej kapitole pred záverom. Anotace anglicky The disseration focuses on the research of anhemitonic pentatonic scales in the folk songs of India. The research aimed at investigating the occurrence and popularity of anhemitonic pentatonic scales in the repertory of folk songs in India, at identifying and critically analyzing the ways these scales are used in the repertory, and at placing them in a broader Asian context. The research presents a novel contribution in the field of musicology, since the occurrence and usage of anhemitonic pentatonic scales in the folk songs of India has not been dealt with in detail so far. The dissertation starts with an account of the tonal aspects of folk songs, the conceptof anhemitonic pentatonic scales, the meaning of ´folk´ in the Indian context and of Indian folk and tribal songs. The second chapter deals with the Asian contect of anhemitonic pentatonic scales. The main part of the dissertation is concentrated in Chapters 3 and 4, which deal with the use of anehmitonic pentatonic scales in the folk songs and tribal songs, respectively, of various Indian states. After a brief introduction to the geographic and demographic characteristics of the region in the subchapters, an account is given of the occurrence and usage of anhemitonic pentatonic scales in the examined sources, followed by the musical analysis of selected songs, including notation of the song.
